Main Objective

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, building and implementing marketing plans for sport and recreational activities, assistance with the execution of marketing plans at various water sports and social events, management of in-house entertainment for events, writing and promotions, oversee coordination of Sailing and affiliated clubs, leading on and off-site marketing efforts including the creation and dissemination of flyers, website and other electronic and social media efforts, and various other duties assigned.

This individual will oversee: all marketing and collateral that is distributed to the membership, champion all social media communications with members, arrange directives and speak on behalf of the General Manager, will provide support to the management of the Administration Office and will organize, minute and follow up with daily agenda and action items for the weekly morning meetings, organize and drive initiatives and projects via internal communications administered from the General Managers Office.

Key Responsibilities: Social Media Management

  1. E Newsletter – Toolbox e-blasts to members.(E newsletter)
  2. E blasts to members – Weekly What’s On, specific events promoted with frequency leading to event, E.G Ladies Night, Members Night.
  3. Website management – Ensuring website is best in class. uploading coming events and ensuring all current content. Editing using Wordpress and Photoshop. Include CMS.
  4. Facebook/Whatsapp – upload and monitoring of Facebook and Whatsapp.
  5. Compilation of Visual Power Points and in-house marketing – i.e. Rolling PowerPoints – what’s coming up, theme nights etc
  6. Cloud emails – Posting on the website/updates/Noticeboards/Pictures.
  7. Source relevant C&I advertising opportunities to improve club perception and positioning.
  8. Assist with the development of Club sales collateral.
  9. Provide market intelligence and competitor Club & Hotels activities.
  10. Attend property events/business associated functions/trade events/consumer shows to provide networking opportunities and promote RPYC in a positive and professional manner.

Essential Person Specification

  1. Previous Sales experience in a Club or Hospitality environment.
  2. Proven ability to generate and maintain business relationships to achieve optimum sales.
  3. Established contacts in the Corporate, Government, Leisure, and Conference & Incentive Markets.
  4. Self-motivated and pro-active with genuine enthusiasm for the sales environment.
  5. Punctual, efficient and courteous at all times to deal effectively with a wide range of people.
  6. Able to maintain a productive balance between administrative duties and sales calls.
  7. Able to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings.
  8. Proficient sales, negotiation, public presentation and time management skills.
  9. An excellent working knowledge of sales and marketing strategies to gain new business.
  10. Well developed numeracy, literacy verbal and written communication skills.
  11. Able to operate personal computer using Word, Excel, Power point, as well as Club software.
  12. Professional personal grooming standards and work ethics.
  13. Able to maintain confidentiality.
  14. Able to work autonomously with the ability to work under pressure.

Desirable:

  1. Relevant tertiary qualifications.
  2. Knowledge of Club products and service.
