Company Doctor

Hargy Oil Palms Limited (HOPL) is an oil-palm producer based in Bialla, West New Britain Province, approximately two and a half hours’ drive east of Kimbe. We invite expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced Company Doctor to lead our Health Services across the company.

The Role

Oversee and coordinate the delivery of quality health services to employees and their dependents. This senior medical position plays a vital role in maintaining high standards of clinical care, promoting preventive health initiatives, and supporting the wellbeing of both employees and the surrounding community across all company operations.

Primary Objectives

• Manage and coordinate the delivery of health services to HOPL employees and their dependants.
• Promote and improve the overall health and wellbeing of company employees and their families.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage company clinics and health staff across all sites.
• Provide medical consultations and treatment for employees and dependents.
• Update clinic SOPs to align with national health protocols.
• Implement health awareness and staff training programs.
• Strengthen medical stock control and accountability systems.
• Improve preventive, promotive, and curative health services.
• Coordinate disease surveillance and outbreak response.
• Ensure accurate health data collection and reporting.
• Develop and manage medical budgets and health plans.
• Collaborate with District and Provincial Health authorities.
• Oversee medical waste management and safe disposal.
• Monitor drug inventory and expiry compliance.
• Promote cost-effective health service delivery.
• Deliver company-wide health education and awareness.
• Ensure compliance with OHS, environmental, and sustainability policies.
  
  

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent qualification (recognised by the PNG Medical Board).
• Current registration to practice medicine in Papua New Guinea.
• Minimum 5 years of post-graduate experience in general practice, public health, or hospital management.
• Strong knowledge of PNG health standards, disease control, and health systems.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, develop policies, and manage budgets.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and reporting skills.
• Experience in rural or corporate health settings is an advantage.
