CreditBank PNG is recruiting a suitable candidate for the role of Customer Service Officer (Mt Hagen Branch).

The successful candidate will be a key player in delivering exceptional service and ensuring a smooth, positive experience for every customer that walks through our doors (or reaches out online). He/she will be responsible for individual and business account onboarding, assisting with Visa card issuance, resolving customer queries, and taking referrals for lending products. This role will contribute to the overall success of the branch by ensuring customers receive top-notch service and helping them make the most of our offerings. This role is based in Mt Hagen and will report to the Branch Manager, Mt Hagen.

Primary responsibilities

  • Guide new customers through a seamless onboarding experience, ensuring that both individual and business accounts are opened accurately and efficiently.
  • Assist with Visa card issuance, ensuring all processes are smooth and compliant with banking policies
  • Be the first point of contact for customers, answering questions and addressing concerns across a wide range of banking products and services. Whether it’s assisting with account maintenance, explaining services, or troubleshooting issues, you’ll ensure that every interaction is positive and helpful.
  • Identify opportunities to refer customers for lending products and services based on their needs
  • Collaborate with the sales team to ensure that customers are aware of all the services we offer, helping to expand their banking relationship with us
  • Provide personalized solutions for customers, ensuring timely resolution of issues. Take ownership of customer concerns, following through on inquiries and ensuring every touchpoint leads to a high level of satisfaction
  • Work closely with branch colleagues, offering support where needed and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. Your collaborative attitude will help drive a cohesive, efficient branch team focused on providing excellent customer service
  • Stay updated with banking products and services, and ensure your knowledge remains current to serve customers better. Regularly participate in training to improve your skills and contribute to the growth of the branch
  • Collaborate with the sales team to support branch growth
  • Utilize customer interactions to identify opportunities for cross-selling and promoting the branch’s products and services, contributing to overall revenue targets.

Other duties

  • Other duties as directed by the Branch Manager, Mt Hagen
  • Be ready to take on additional tasks as needed to ensure the success of the branch. Whether it’s assisting with branch events or supporting other departments, you’ll be flexible in meeting customer and team needs.

Requirements for the role

  • Minimum Diploma in financial services or business-related studies
  • Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in a banking environment
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Prior experience working with banking systems and Microsoft Office tools.
