DATA MANAGEMENT COORDINATOR, SHORT TERM CONSULTANT

Reporting to the SI Advisor/M&E Lead, the Data Management Coordinator short term consultant will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the collection, storage, and analysis of program data. This includes ensuring data integrity, designing data management policies and procedures, monitoring data usage and access, and coordinating across programs to support their data needs and share best practice to ensure improve operational efficiency across all activities.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for receiving, reviewing, validating, and compiling of reports from health facilities providing HIV/AIDS prevention care and treatment services.
  • Ensure data is accurate, complete, and readily accessible to support project goals.
  • Provide feedback to reporting facilities on the quality of data reports received.
  • Responsible for preparing HIV annual, semester, quarterly and monthly data reports and all other related surveillance data of the program.
  • Visit health facilities and verify reported data against actual registers and recording tools and make corrections as needed.
  • During site visits, ensure that all recording and reporting tools are adequate and complete, and all the registers and reports are up to date.
  • He/she should identify and close any training gaps noted among staff and data clerks in data collection and reporting tools.
  • Assist in data collection, compilation, and data entry of HIV /AIDS related research activities.
  • Assist in the reviewing and updating of the HIV/AIDS data reporting tools.
  • He/she would assist in conducting data training activities for staff in health facilities.
  • He/she would support any other deliverables requested by the SI Advisor or other NCDPHA officials.
  • Be the focal point for all programmatic data management processes for the country office.
  • Coordinate data management activities across all country office programs.
  • Provide technical assistance and capacity building to all program teams relating to program data management.
  • Support the customization, expansion and development of DHIS2-HPDB integration.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in health-related field including medicine, public health, nursing/midwife or related field like ITC technology with at least 3 years of health programs data management experience.
  • Expert knowledge of English
  • At least three years’ work experience in managing data in health programs.
  • Knowledge of medical records, clinical data entry, data quality control and IT systems
  • Strong data analysis, support-supervision, and Microsoft office database management skills including knowledge of MS Access, PowerBI, DHIS2, PHP, MySQL App Development, and Online-Based Surveys
  • Previous work experience implementing HIV/AIDS program in country is an added advantage.



Skills

  • Ability to use Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) Skills in database management
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work without supervision, identify problems and solutions.
  • Good communication skills both reading and writing; Effective interpersonal communication skills and report writing.
  • Team player and strong leadership and management skills
