This executive opportunity sits within a high-performing team committed to strategic growth, performance, and succession planning.
Reporting to the Chief Investment Officer (CIO), the Deputy Chief Investment Officer will support the implementation of the CIO's responsibilities and regularly deputise in their absence. This role provides strategic leadership across all aspects of investment management, including team oversight, compliance, performance monitoring, and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities: - Lead and manage the Investment Department, supporting the development and execution of investment frameworks and strategies.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and optimise portfolio returns within approved risk parameters.
- Oversee Investment Committee operations, monitor asset performance, and manage service provider relationships.
- Provide leadership across investment, property, and legal functions, including workforce planning, staff evaluation, and succession planning.
- Develop strong internal and external stakeholder relationships to support strategic investment outcomes.
- Champion effective recordkeeping and reporting practices.
- Uphold health and safety standards across all investment-related activities, including property holdings.
Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline; post-graduate qualifications such as CFA or CA/CPA are an advantage.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in investment management roles, preferably within superannuation, banking, or financial services.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple asset classes or specialist portfolios.
- Strong understanding of investment concepts, capital markets, and economic trends.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to coach, develop, and lead high-performing teams.
- Advanced planning, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all organisational levels.
