We are currently looking for suitable, qualified, experienced, and highly motivated professional to fill the District Coordinator role to be based in Kiunga , Western Province .
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The purpose of this role is to manage the STOP TB Project operation in the district. S/he will manage project staff and daily operations ensuring smooth coordination and implementation of activities within the district. S/he will be accountable for WV assets, supplied materials, as well as documentation of activities conducted and supported by the Project. S/he plans, coordinates and implements strategies and activities together with the local government staff, stakeholders, partners, and community volunteers.
MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure program activities are conducted as per implementation plan
- Communicate with local government and health partners in the assigned areas the goals, objectives and strategies of the project.
- Plans strategies and courses of action, guided by the results of the assessments as well as project goals and standards, with local government and health partners in the assigned areas.
- Provide technical assistance to local government and health partners in the implementation of World Vision value-added strategies including planning, capability building, education, advocacy, assessment activities as well systems installation
- Implement approved sustainability and phasing out mechanism in assigned areas
Specific activities
Training
- Ensure TB health service providers in the BMU are trained on DSTB, PICT, TB in Children with FNAB & GA, Electronic TB
- Ensure PMDT Site health service providers are trained on PMDT
- Ensure all laboratory staff undergo training in TB Microscopy, GeneXpert, culture and sensitivity testing
- Ensure all Treatment Supporters are trained on DSTB prior to deployment
Meetings
- Ensure Case management meetings (for DS- and DRTB) are conducted regularly
- Ensure District Core Group meetings are conducted every month
- Ensure regular meetings are held between laboratory staffs and TB health workers
Recording & Reporting
- Ensure complete and timely recording and reporting by the BMUs
- Ensure that data encoder is updated weekly by health service providers
- Setup results reporting system for notification of health workers and patients
Quality Assurance & compliance
- Ensure all office practices are compliant with administrative and financial procedures
- Discuss identified gaps and barriers to quality service delivery with communities and supervisors and assist them in planning strategies and activities to address issues.
- Track and document organizational development milestones in assigned areas and identify significant influencing factors. Use these analyses for planning and implementation of appropriate support interventions.
- Collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data on the accomplishments of assigned areas following approved guidelines and utilizing recommended tools.
- Submit accomplishment reports to the Provincial Coordinator with corresponding verified supporting documents, according to approved timetables.
- Participate in periodic project assessments and evaluations with key city/district and local health partners and stakeholders at various levels to analyze trends and gaps in performance vis-à-vis project goals and standards and formulate appropriate or reinforce existing actions.
Ensure smooth Operations
- Executes financial transactions in accordance with approved project plans
- Ensure all transactions are documented according to project requirements & timetable
- Ensure security protocols and procedures are followed in the day-to-day operation of the district office
- Develop and maintain good working relationship with the project partners, suppliers, and service providers
- Ensure integration of works with other district staff
Human resource management
- Ensure performance goals for all district-based staff are in place
- Ensure performance reviews are conducted in line with WV standards
- Ensure all district-based staffs exhibit work life balance
- Support project officers in the management of community-based treatment supporters
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION/SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor Degree Allied Medical or Health Services Management
- Experience with non-profit organization
- At least 1-2 years’ work experience in community development in rural settings
- Excellent written documentation and report making skills
- Proficient in MS Office application (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Time management skills
- Effective negotiation skills
- Proven experience as a team player
- Demonstrated collaboration skills
