Position Title: Domestic Electrician

Location: Port Moresby

Division: WR Carpenter Properties

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Domestic Electrician to join our Properties Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling, installing, repairing and maintaining electrical systems and equipment by using various power tools in accordance with job specifications and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Installs and maintains wiring, outlets, lighting fixtures, and switches and other electrical equipment.
• Connect wires to the circuit breakers, transformers, conduits or any other components.
• Clean circuit boards to ensure systems are grounded.
• Trouble shoot and repair electrical system break down.
• Complies with all safety standards and regulations.
• Performs preventive maintenance work as required.

Qualifications & Requirements

• PNG citizen with High School diploma or vocational certificate.
• Must be aged 25 years and above.
• Posses a PNG Power Electrician license.
• Experience; over two years of hands-on experience in electrical building wiring.
• Technical skills; ability to read technical blueprints and diagrams, strong problem-solving skills and knowledge of safety regulations.
• Technical expertise; strong background in electrical works.
• Tool proficiency; ability to read complex technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and use diagnostic tools (mustimeters, meggers)
• Communication; good verbal and written communication skills is required for coordinating with suppliers, procurement teams and other departments.
