Position Summary

The Electrician / Electrical Fitter carries out hands-on electrical installation, commissioning and maintenance scopes to support Venturi's products and installations.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, test and repair electrical systems, equipment, cabling and distribution to code and in line with job drawings, schedules and specifications.

• Build and wire control panels, enclosures and equipment skids in the workshop/cal lab prior to installation on site.

• Install, connect and support commissioning of Venturi's IoT, telematics, metering and monitoring hardware, including power supplies, field wiring and sensor/instrument connections.

• Carry out safe isolation, testing and verification (continuity, insulation, loop and functional checks) and record results.

• Diagnose and rectify electrical faults on equipment, panels, and installed systems.

• Complete job documentation: test sheets, service reports and photo documentation.

• Work within Venturi's safety requirements and policies.

Requirements:

Essential

• Recognized electrical trade qualification (electrician / electrical fitter).

• Current PNG electrical license.

• Demonstrated experience in industrial or commercial electrical installation, termination, and testing.

• Able to read and work from electrical drawings, schematics and schedules, flagging discrepancies and escalating review points where applicable.

• Sound knowledge of electrical safety practices.

• Valid or renewable driver's license.

• Physically able to perform field and workshop work.

Desirable

• Control panel building and wiring experience.

• Exposure to instrumentation and field devices (level, pressure, flow, temperature transmitters) and loop wiring.

• Familiarity with controls equipment (PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, Modbus / networked devices).

• Generator, power systems, or switchboard experience.

• Experience installing IoT, telematics, or monitoring hardware.
