Position Vacant: Engineering Manager

We have an immediate requirement for Engineering Manager, based in Port Moresby reporting to the Brewery Manager.

Main duties include:

• Oversee the effective implementation of the company Preventive Maintenance Strategy (HACS), including the roll-out and optimization of planned maintenance activities to reduce the number of breakdowns and minor stops resulting in improved line reliability and performance.
• Provide immediate support needed by Production to address unplanned downtimes, i.e. machine breakdown, and bring the machine back to operations the quickest time possible.
• Responsible for reduction of unplanned downtime by applying Structured Fault-Finding Routines, i.e. Breakdown Analysis (BDA) and Root Cause Failure Analysis.
• Liaise with production to plan up time and down time of machines in a way that all Stock Keeping Units can be produced as planned.
• Identify and resolve operational limitations, such as design speed of Packaging Machines, pasteurization level, quality of delivered utilities etc.
• Manage the consistent and reliable production of utilities, including electricity, steam, compressed air, water, carbon dioxide, and cooling mediums.
• Ensure effective and accurate measurement and reporting of energy and water consumption to consumers and ensure proper consumption deployments are followed and shared with stakeholders.
• Drive all Preventative Maintenance (PM) processes for work identification, planning, preparation, execution, evaluation and improvement. Key processes are Tagging, Planned Maintenance Day, Cleaning, Inspection, Lubrication, Tightening (CILT) support, Break Down Analysis and Overhaul.
• Responsible for capital expenditures assigned to the engineering department, including all related administration and operational ‘roll in’ (documentation, training, spare parts, PM system).

Qualification and Experience:

• Must possess an engineering degree from a university or technical institute.
• Must have 8 -10 years’ experience in relevant equipment (utilities, beer production, packaging) and engineering management.
• Broad knowledge engineering in different trades such as mechanical, electrical, automation and instrumentation.
• Broad knowledge in different types of machinery: power generation, power distribution, compressor, cooling systems, water and wastewater treatment, steam systems, filtration systems, pumps, valves, filling, labeling, packing, conveying.
• Must have maintenance engineering skills including setup of Preventative Maintenance (PM) standards and setup Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Proficient in change management, demonstrated leadership and analytical skills, shop floor oriented, and effective communication with management and shop floor personnel.
• Experience working in Brewery or Food and Beverage company.
