Lead the Legal Battle Against Corruption
Our client is seeking an accomplished legal professional to step into the role of
Executive Director, Legal Services Division. This role serves as the
Chief Legal Advisor and General Counsel to the Commission, overseeing a broad spectrum of legal functions, including, prosecutions of complex corruption and serious fraud cases and recovery of assets following the
Proceeds of Crimes Act.
This is a strategic leadership position that requires profound legal expertise to navigate constitutional matters, complex litigation, and high-stakes anti-corruption prosecution.
Key Responsibilities - Serve as General Counsel to the Commission, providing high-level legal advice.
- Lead the prosecution of complex corruption and serious fraud cases, including asset recovery.
- Oversee and direct all legal functions, including constitutional law and civil litigation.
- Represent the ICAC in court proceedings and support Commission Hearings.
- Plan, organize, and manage the staff and resources of the Legal and Prosecution branches.
Key Requirements - Bachelor’s Degree in Law, with a Master's degree as an advantage.
- Minimum 10 years of legal experience with 7 years or more in a senior management role.
- Admitted to practice law in PNG with a current practising certificate.
- In-depth knowledge and proven experience in litigation across relevant areas of law.
- Extensive knowledge of Constitutional Law, OLICAC, and litigation
- Demonstrated Strategic Leadership and high ethical standards (Integrity).
- Strong advocacy, analytical, and strategic leadership skills.
