NPL now have following Sourcing, Procurement and Purchasing Positions with our Supply and Business Services Department based in Lae. The successful candidates will join a dynamic team procuring and expediting goods and services in PNG and internationally. To support our mining operations, we are seeking expressions of interest in the roles below:

• Superintendent Sourcing
• Superintendent Purchasing
• Sourcing Specialist x 3
• Purchasing Officer x 3
• Procurement and Purchasing analyst

About the role

The Supply team is responsible for leading and coordinating all sourcing and procurement activities to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. The team is responsible for developing category specific sourcing strategies, managing the RFP/RFQ process, ensuring compliance with NPL policies and supporting operational requirements, in a timely and cost-effective manner. All team members are responsible for maintaining strong vendor relationships to enhance efficiency and deliver value for money.

All roles require experience at the relevant level in purchasing operations by managing suppliers and systems and assisting stakeholders in adhering to NPL purchasing policies and procedures.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will ideally possess the following qualifications and experience: Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, or related discipline with 5+ years of sourcing experience (minimum 2+ years leadership experience for Superintendent), competent in use of SAP, SAP Ariba, and advanced Excel skills with strong negotiation and analytical skills and CIPS certification (or similar) preferred. You will demonstrate a ‘One Team’ approach, providing effective leadership and development for your local team to reinforce NPL’s culture and values, always promoting a safe work environment. The position requires a high energy individual, hands-on management style and desire to continuously improve you and your team’s knowledge and systems and methods of work.

This is a PNG National Staff position based in Lae, operating on a Walk-In Walk-Out arrangement with a work schedule of five days on, two days off (weekdays only), with scheduled monthly visits to the new Porgera Limited mine site, Enga Province. Candidates must successfully complete a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening and provide a current Police Clearance Certificate This will be arranged only for those who progress beyond the interview stage.
