What you’ll do:

Based at our campsite in Moro, Kutubu, Southern Highlands Province, this position is accountable to the Field Operations Senior Manager (FOSM) and is responsible for transforming strategy into the delivery of Santos Foundation program activities in partnership with key stakeholders in Southern Highlands and Gulf Provinces, respectively. The FOM provides oversight of governance, risk management and security. The role provides leadership and mentoring to staff and partners.

This is a FIFO role with 28 days on / 28 day off roster.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Working closely with FOSM to develop and maintain effective partnerships with the Southern Highlands Provincial Health Authority (SHPHA), Gulf Provincial Health Authority (GPHA), Provincial and District Governments etc. to enable the effective implementation of programs and activities.
  • Leading the program implementation in SHP and Gulf and taking specific ownership for the delivery of key programs.
  • Collaborating with Santos field-based leads (Community Affairs, Security, Aviation, Operations Support, Safety, Environment) to achieve Santos Foundation’s objectives.
  • Working closely with the Santos Foundation and Santos security teams in monitoring and escalating security/threats as required.
  • Providing camp management support to Santos Foundation Camp located at Pimaga.
  • Contributing to the development of program budgeting and forecasting, monitors and reports financial outcomes in accordance with agreed requirements and contractual agreements.
  • Implementing Santos Foundation’s monitoring, performance and reporting processes to ensure that the program objectives and targets are met, trends recognised, gaps rectified, and required reports are issued in a timely manner.
  • Providing strong leadership to staff and continuously monitoring staff performance to ensure high performance
  • Supporting SHPHA and GPHA in responding to humanitarian and public health emergencies, ensuring communities receive timely and appropriate care.
  • Leading the implementation of SHP and Gulf security procedures and processes and ensures all staff are orientated and adhere to all policy requirements.

What you’ll bring:

Essential

  • Extensive experience as a senior manager in a development environment
  • Highly computer literate – demonstrated experience in using MS Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Degree in a related discipline
  • Demonstrated leadership and change management skills
  • Strong cross-cultural communication skills including public speaking
  • People Skills, Negotiation, Dispute Resolution, Analytical, Investigative, Program Planning, Budgeting, Team building, counselling, performance monitoring, Project Management.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload - organised, quick thinking
  • High attention to detail and good communication skills
  • Strong time management and administration ability
  • Current PNG Class 6 driving license

Desired

  • Dispute Resolution, Social Studies, Project Management, Security and Incident Reporting is highly desired
  • Community Affairs, Security operations, Safety, camp management experience
  • People management experience is highly desirable
  • Formal qualifications in Dispute Resolution, Social Studies, Project Management, Security and Incident Reporting
