The Role

This specialised Finance Partner role is designed for a commercial finance expert with a focus on technology and digital investment. The Finance Partner acts as a key link between Finance and the Technology business unit, supporting the DBX Project through robust financial management, governance, and decision-making support. Reporting to the Head of Finance Partnering, you will work closely with senior technology stakeholders to provide forward-looking insights that enable the organisation’s digital transformation strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a strategic co-pilot to the Technology leadership team, providing commercial insights and evidence-based advice to drive sustainable financial performance.
  • Support the technology investment slate by assisting with business cases, monitoring portfolio performance, and ensuring benefits realisation for the DBX Project.
  • Own and complete the budgeting, forecasting, and planning processes for the technology functions, ensuring alignment with enterprise objectives.
  • Prepare and deliver accurate management reports and variance analysis, identifying emerging financial risks and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with wider Finance teams to improve reporting quality and leverage automation tools to enhance process efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with BPNG prudential standards and internal risk management policies within the technology function.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience
  • Tertiary qualifications (Bachelors or higher) in Business, Accounting, or Economics are essential.
  • Professional certification with CPA PNG or an equivalent international body is required.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, financial modelling, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle). Prior experience with data visualisation tools like Power BI or Tableau is desirable.
  • At least 3–5 years of management or financial accounting experience in financial services, or 6 years of senior experience in another industry.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting technology cost structures, digital transformation programmes, or large-scale project modernisation is highly regarded.
  • Advanced ability to present complex financial information to diverse stakeholders and build consensus across senior teams.
