The Role

The Finance Partner acts as a critical link between the Finance function and the business units, supporting financial management, governance, and commercial decision-making. Embedded within the business, you will work closely with the General Managers of Treasury, Operations, and People & Culture (P&C) to provide the insights and forward-looking analysis necessary to enable informed strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a financial co-pilot to business unit leadership, providing strategic advice that aligns with enterprise objectives and drives sustainable performance.
  • Own and complete the budgeting and planning processes for the Treasury, Ops, and P&C units, ensuring all plans are robust and aligned with the Group strategy.
  • Prepare and deliver accurate management reports, forecasts, and variance analysis to identify financial risks and opportunities.
  • Maintain strict compliance with risk management policies, internal controls, and relevant prudential standards.
  • Develop and leverage strong internal networks across Finance and the wider bank to facilitate effective communication and problem-solving.
  • Collaborate with the wider FP&A team to improve reporting quality and leverage automation tools for increased efficiency.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience
  • Tertiary qualifications (bachelor's or higher) in Business, Accounting, or Economics are essential.
  • Professional certification with CPA PNG or an equivalent international body is required.
  • At least 3–5 years of management or financial accounting experience in financial services, or 6 years of senior accounting experience in another industry.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, financial modelling, and scenario analysis. Prior experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle) is essential.
  • Ability to understand diverse business drivers across different functions, from Treasury markets to human capital management.
  • Advanced ability to present complex financial information in a compelling way and build consensus across senior leadership teams.
