The Role:

Our client is one of the largest employers in PNG, with a competitive edge across most environments in Papua New Guinea. They have a long history of operations spanning various industries, including manufacturing, agriculture, trading, and IT activities. The organisation is currently seeking a Financial Controller to be based at their Port Moresby site. Reporting directly to the CFO, the Financial Controller will manage the divisional accounting and finance functions of the business. This role is suited to someone with a strong ability to collaborate with people from diverse backgrounds and a positive, can-do attitude. Previous experience as a Financial Controller in the FMCG/Manufacturing sector is advantageous but not essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the accounting, human resources, investor relations, legal, tax, and treasury departments.
• Prepare various reports daily, weekly, and monthly, including daily cash book balances, collections, and utilization of cash.
• Ensure proper maintenance of financial records and prepare necessary financial reports.
• Ensure company compliance with financial regulations and standards.
• Provide training and coaching to all employees within the finance department.

Key Requirements:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent, with CPA qualification.
• 5+ years of experience as a senior accountant, preferably with a large and diverse organization.
• Ability to work effectively with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
• Positive attitude, team player, and ability to adapt within the business.
• Ensure implementation and compliance with basic accounting, administrative, and operational internal controls.
• Previous experience in the FMCG or Manufacturing industry is highly regarded but not essential.
