The Role


This Financial Reporting Manager role is responsible for leading the Group’s statutory reporting, financial consolidation, and general ledger governance. Reporting to the Head of Financial Reporting, you will ensure the accurate and timely delivery of consolidated financial statements and provide critical financial oversight across Pacific markets and subsidiaries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the preparation and finalisation of month-end, half-year, and annual consolidated financial statements for the Bank and Group in accordance with IFRS.
  • Consolidate forecasts, budgets, and reforecasts for Pacific entities, and lead the preparation of high-level board papers and Executive Committee commentary.
  • Run the end-to-end audit process, including planning, technical responses, and coordination with external auditors.
  • Ensure strict adherence to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), BPNG Prudential Standards, and internal Bank policies.
  • Oversee the review of month-end journals, including IFRS 16 leases, write-offs, and recoveries.
  • Drive continuous improvement and process efficiency across the reporting cycle, assisting with system transformation projects.
  • Manage and mentor the Financial Accounting team, providing direction and building technical capability.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience
  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or Business are essential.
  • Certified Practising Accountant PNG (CPA PNG) or equivalent certification is mandatory.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in financial reporting or audit, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
  • Banking experience is highly desirable; however, broad corporate experience from mining or large corporate environments is also valued, provided you possess strong consolidation and ERP expertise.
  • Advanced knowledge of Financial Statement preparation (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) and senior-level general ledger control.
  • Strong proficiency in ERP systems and advanced technical skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to present complex financial information to diverse stakeholders.
