About the Organisation
Our client is one of Papua New Guinea’s largest and most established diversified groups, with a rich history of driving economic growth across the Logistics, Hotels, and Properties sectors. We pride ourselves on operational excellence and maintaining the highest safety standards across our extensive asset portfolio. By joining us, you become part of a forward-thinking leadership team committed to engineering integrity and sustainable development.

The Role
They are seeking a Fire Risk Technical Specialist to serve as their designated Group-level Technical Authority. This is a strategic leadership position designed to provide engineering oversight and governance over all fire detection, suppression, and life safety systems. Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Governance: Establish Group Fire Engineering Standards and approve technical specifications for all divisions.
  • Engineering Oversight: Provide high-level technical review for fire detection, sprinkler systems, hydrant systems, and water supply integrity.
  • Lifecycle Management: Develop 10–15 year asset replacement strategies and provide cost-benefit analyses for major upgrades.
  • Risk & Assurance: Conduct engineering-level fire risk assessments and validate the effectiveness of critical fire controls.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Interface with the PNG Fire Service and insurers' risk engineers to ensure full regulatory alignment.
Key Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Fire, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
  • 8+ years of experience in complex fire engineering environments; prior experience as a technical authority is essential.
  • Advanced capability in fire system design, lifecycle asset planning, and a deep understanding of PNG building codes and fire safety legislation.
  • Professional certification in Fire Protection Engineering (NEBOSH or NFPA) is highly advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to influence at the executive level and maintain a calm, authoritative presence in high-risk scenarios.
If you are a seasoned engineer looking to transition from a compliance-only role into a strategic technical authority position, we want to hear from you. This is a rare opportunity to define the fire safety landscape of a major multi-industry leader. Apply today to help us set the standard for engineering integrity in the region.
