The Role

We are seeking a General Manager (Aviation – Aircraft & Flight Operations) to serve as the legal Accountable Manager under CASR Part 119 and Part 145. This is a nationally significant leadership role working closely with the Country Director to advance the strategic goals and vision of the PNG ministry plan.

You will oversee all aviation operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, while fostering a culture of safety, operational excellence and servant leadership. This role is based in Mt Hagen and will require occasional national travel.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee safe, compliant aviation operations throughout PNG
• Lead strategic planning, budgeting, and team development
• Foster a proactive safety and quality culture
• Oversee fleet planning, maintenance programs, and resource development
• Partner with regulators, clients, and community stakeholders
• Support emergency readiness and risk mitigation efforts
• Provide values-based leadership and model Christian principles in action
• Drive succession planning and cross-functional collaboration

What We're Looking For

• Proven leadership, coaching and cross-cultural communication skills
• Ideally strong understanding of aviation safety regulations and compliance standards or has worked in a highly regulated industry
• Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management or a related field
• Pilot’s licence and flight experience (desirable)
• Ideally experience in aviation operations, including aircraft maintenance and flight operations
• Ability to lead a multidisciplinary team and collaborate with mission partners
• Committed to Christian values with a servant-hearted approach to leadership
• PNG National, based in, or willing to relocate to Mt Hagen
