Our client, Bridgestone PNG is seeking a commercially strong and operationally disciplined General Manager to lead its national business through its next phase of performance improvement, integration, and sustainable growth.

This is a country leadership role for a well-established, multi-site business operating across retail, commercial, fleet, and industrial tyre segments in a complex, fast-moving emerging market.

The role operates within a structured global governance model spanning Japan (Global Headquarters), Singapore (Asia Pacific Regional Headquarters), and Australia/NZ (operational support), requiring strong stakeholder management, disciplined execution, and the ability to deliver across multiple reporting lines.

THE ROLE

The General Manager – Bridgestone PNG holds full accountability for business performance, operational delivery, and leadership of a 150-person, 7-branch national network.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead execution of Bridgestone PNG strategy aligned with global and regional direction
• Own full P&L accountability, driving sustainable growth and profitability
• Drive performance across a multi-branch national network
• Strengthen sales across passenger, commercial, fleet, mining, and industrial segments
• Improve supply chain performance, inventory discipline, and service reliability
• Lead operational execution, systems uplift, and SAP transition (ECC → HANA)
• Embed strong safety, compliance, and workforce engagement standards
• Build leadership capability across store and functional teams
• Manage key stakeholder relationships across PNG and APAC

ABOUT YOU

You are a proven country or senior operational leader with experience delivering results in complex, distributed, and commercially driven environments.

You bring:

• Full P&L leadership experience in emerging or complex markets
• Background in automotive, industrial, supply chain, or multi-site operations
• Strong execution discipline with a clear bias for outcomes
• Cross-functional leadership across commercial and operational teams
• Experience operating within regional or global governance structures
• Exposure to Asian or Japanese-led operating models (highly regarded)
• Hands-on, commercially grounded leadership style
