We are looking for an experienced and strategic Human Resources professional to step into the role of
General Manager - People & Culture (P&C), reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This is a functional leader position that actively contributes to achieving organisational goals by ensuring the HR environment is effectively managed and the organization possesses the talent required for success.
Key Responsibilities The General Manager - People & Culture will work as part of the executive team to provide strategic direction and oversight across all human resource disciplines.
- Strategic Leadership & Planning: Develop and implement an overarching People Strategy that aligns with the customer-centric focus, with an emphasis on building capacity and workforce planning.
- Provide vision, policy, strategy, and direction setting for both the organisation and the P&C Department.
- Maintain current knowledge of the workforce environment, best practice HR strategies, and legislative changes.
- Talent Management & Development: Develop and implement best practice attraction and retention strategies to ensure the organization has the necessary talent.
- Ensure the correct business model, structure, design, and salary administration policies are in place to attract and retain talent.
- Develop and implement strategies to promote the company as an employer of choice, increasing employee engagement and participation.
- Compliance, Management & Advice: Ensure compliance with BPNG Prudential Standards and PNG employment laws.
- Develop and implement fit-for-purpose policies to effectively manage HR functions, ensuring compliance and optimizing team performance.
Key Requirements - Qualifications: A relevant qualification in HR, Industrial Psychology, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years with extensive experience working in similar roles that manage a multi-disciplinary HR function, preferably in the Financial Services industry.
- Technical Knowledge: Technical knowledge in Superannuation, HRM & HRD practises, and advanced practical understanding of PNG labour laws.
- Leadership & Communication: Must possess exceptional skills in Leading a team, management, planning, and budgeting. This includes superior relationship building, negotiation, and influencing skills, as well as extensive skill in written and verbal communication.
- Advanced Competencies: Advanced proficiency in Planning & Organising, Delegation, Problem Solving, Decision Making, and Coaching and People Development.
