Group Human Resources Manager

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

PNG Namba Wan Trophy Limited Group of Companies is seeking a dedicated and experienced Group Human Resources Manager, who will provide day-to-day overall HR support across all of its subsidiary companies. Managing a strong HR team, the incumbent will be tasked with maintaining compliance in the areas of recruitment, benefits, compensation, employee relations, onboarding, and separation. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the PNG labor laws, a strategic mindset, strong leadership skills, a passion for developing and implementing HR policies and the ability to support our overall business objectives.

ROLE DETAILS

Position Title: Group Human Resources Manager

Company: NWTL

Location: Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Engage in and/or facilitate recruitment by participating in the interview and selection process, employment contracts, onboarding and induction;
  • Issue employment contracts and onboard new employees, providing comprehensive information and training on policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, benefits, and professional development opportunities.
  • Advise coordinators on all organizational policy matters
  • Ensure all post-hire management activities relating to Learning & Development, Staff Movements, Succession Planning, Discipline and Performance Management is facilitated and implemented effectively;
  • Monitor, prepare and or escalate for matters relating to time & attendance, payroll administration and leave management;
  • Provide support services for assigned HR tasks/queries by maintaining service standards, as well as ensure HR reports and dashboards are up to date;
  • Actively involved in compensation and benefits management, by ensuring and promoting implementation of applicable pay scales in the business.
  • Provide advice to senior managers and executive level for matters pertaining to compensation and benefits strategies, labour budget & forecasting;
  • Participate in annual salary benchmarking exercise in conjunction with feedback from Payroll and HR Coordinators;
  • Work in consultation with senior and executive management to address any industrial disputes.


JOB REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: At least seven years of experience in HR, minimum of 3 years’ experience in senior position
  • Skills: Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Technical Skills: Must have proficiency in MS Office Suite; proficiency in Pronto would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge: Solid understanding of HR best practices and familiarity with PNG employment laws and regulations.
  • Attributes: High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism. Proactive approach and commitment to continuous improvement. Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills.
