We are seeking to recruit for the position of APD Trainer for our Safety, Health, Security & Risk – Investigation Department. Reporting to the APD Training Supervisor, the primary objective of this role is to deliver, assess and evidence collection training for all MCGL Asset Protection Officers and perform associated APD functions at the company sites in PNG as required by the APD Training Supervisor.

Key roles and responsibilities include:

  • Provide current and appropriate training for APD personnel from the APD training syllabus ensuring that all APD Officers understand their roles and responsibilities in conjunction with PNG law and observe the UN Voluntary Principles of code of conduct and human rights.
  • Ensure APD personnel are trained to meet legal requirements and ensure competency levels are maintained at the highest achievable level.
  • Assist the APD Training Coordinator and APD Manager in developing training modules and operational procedures.
  • Schedule guards for training in accordance with the training matrix and ensure that accurate training records are maintained.
  • Provide counselling and discipline as appropriate in accordance with company policies.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience required:

  • Certificate IV Training and Assessment
  • Must have current Class 6 Driver’s License
  • Must be computer literate
  • Must be physically fit to undertake instruction of Public Order and Officer Safety techniques
  • Minimum of 5-year experience in the PNG Defence Force or the RPNGC
  • (Although a minimum of 10 years exemplary employment in the private security sector will be considered) With a strong involvement in recognized training teams.
  • MS Power Point Presentation Skills
  • Skills and Knowledge in Training Module development and delivery
  • Training needs analysis and report writing

The above role is Hidden Valley Mine Site based.
