Human Resources Manager

We are a people powered business, and we are looking for a talented Human Resources Manager who understands that culture is key. This role is responsible for creating an enabling and empowering work environment where our team can thrive and deliver truly memorable guest experiences.

A little taste of your day-to-day

Every day is different, but you will mostly be responsible for:

  • Creating programmes that foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging work environment for every team member.
  • Coordinating onboarding, orientation, and employee engagement initiatives across the hotel.
  • Supporting and administering the annual team member satisfaction survey and related action planning.
  • Developing creative ways to inspire and motivate colleagues to provide exceptional guest experiences.
  • Managing employee records, HR documentation, and payroll related processes accurately and confidentially.
  • Supporting recruitment and selection activities while ensuring hotel hiring standards, applicable laws, and regulations are followed.
  • Providing guidance to department managers on employee relations, performance management, disciplinary matters, and policy application.
  • Working with department managers to develop initiatives that support service standards and continuous improvement in the guest experience.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant employment laws, health and safety requirements, and IHG policies and procedures, including the annual HR compliance and standards self-audit.

What we need from you

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or an equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of three years’ related Human Resources experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in payroll administration and budget management.
  • Knowledge of the PNG Employment Act and relevant health and safety legislation.
  • Strong organisational, communication, confidentiality, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Previous hotel or hospitality HR experience will be highly regarded.
