ICT BUSINESS ANALYST

LOCATION: LAE, MOROBE PROVINCE

Primary purpose role

ICT Business Analysts identify and communicate with users to formulate and produce requirements specifications to create system and software solutions. Key accountabilities

• Identifies, investigates, and analyses business processes, procedures and work practices
• Identifies and evaluates inefficiencies and recommends optimal business practices, and system functionality and behaviour
• Uses project management methodologies, principles and techniques to develop project plans and to cost, resource and manage projects
• Takes responsibility for deploying functional solutions, such as creating, adopting and implementing system test plans, which ensures acceptable quality and integrity of the system
• Creates user and trainer documentation, and conducts formal training classes
• Develops functional specifications for use by system developers
• Uses data and process modelling techniques to create clear system specifications for the design and development of system software
• Acts as a central reference and information source, providing guidance and assistance in the system project decision making process

Key challenges

• Establish relationships with stakeholders to develop trust and ensure reliable and accurate information
• Manage project requirements scope and distil business needs to identify fit for purpose options through effective negotiation and facilitation between the business and IT
• Manage resistance in sharing information and accountability for decisions by the business and IT to ensure coherent, informative, and usable documents and business cases

Role dimensions:

Works under general direction within a clear framework of accountability. The role exercises substantial personal responsibility and autonomy including the latitude to plan own work to meet given objectives and processes. Has a working level contact with customers and suppliers required to provide agreed services in predictable and structured areas. Performs a range of varied work activities in a variety of structured environments. Contributes to routine problem resolution.

Requirements:

2. High attention to detail and accuracy.

3. Must hold one of below degrees:

• Bachelor of Business Information
• Bachelor of Information Technology
• Bachelor of Computer Science
• Bachelor of Business Analytics

4. Must have the latest medical certificate

5. Must have the latest police certificate
