A brand-new, execution-focused Information Security Architect role is available with a leading financial services organisation to design, implement, and maintain enterprise-wide security architecture across hybrid cloud and on-premises environments. This strategic role is pivotal in embedding security by design across all technology initiatives.

The Role

Reporting to the Chief Information Security Officer, you will:
  • Design and implement comprehensive security architectures for cloud and on-premises systems.
  • Develop security standards, reference architectures, and design patterns for enterprise technology solutions.
  • Establish architectural guardrails and security governance for projects across the organisation.
  • Partner with IT architects and project teams to integrate security requirements into all technology initiatives.
  • Implement cloud-native security controls, zero-trust principles, secure containerisation, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) security standards.
  • Maintain enterprise security standards, policies, and best practice guidelines, ensuring alignment with regulatory and industry requirements.
  • Mentor and guide a small security team, sharing expertise and developing capabilities within the organisation.
About You
  • Degree in IT, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 8–10 years in cybersecurity, including at least 2 years as a security architect in a large organisation.
  • Hands-on experience in cloud security, hybrid cloud architectures, and enterprise security standards.
  • Strong understanding of security frameworks, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Relevant certifications such as TOGAF, SABSA, or cloud security credentials are highly desirable.
This is a front-facing, strategic, and hands-on role where you will shape the organisation’s security posture, drive governance, and ensure security is embedded in all technology initiatives.
