LAE TYRE FITTER

Location: Lae, Morobe Province

REPORTS TO: Workshop superintendents and Workshop Supervisors

REQUIREMENT:

Minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience, of which must be in tyre repair, pressure checks, tyre repairs documentations for trucks, trailers, Reach Stackers and forklifts in haulage/Logistics workshop environment.

• Medical Certificate
• Police Clearance.
• Certificate of competence.
• Drivers’ License.

JOB SUMMARY:

To ensure constant profitability of the maintenance workshop tyre department as well as executing and organizing all tyre repairs/ maintenances to reduce trucks down time from breakdowns. Implement workshop operational policies and procedures, ensure technical performance of workshop tyres and keep proper documentation of tyre activities.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensures profitable operation of the workshop tyre department
• Recovers requisition for job specification as apportioned.
• Ensures works are carried-out as quickly as possible.
• Ensures good tyre records keeping and good management practices
• Ensures prompt handling of equipment and repairs
• Ensures all tyre repair maintenance logbooks and records are properly documented and constantly updated.
• Ensuring full compliance with all safety procedures.
• Ensure good working relationship with and between the workshop force, clients and contractors
• Liaise with the workshop superintendent/Supervisors on tyre supply to ensure they are readily available and eliminate unplanned downtime vis-à-vis loss of revenues due to lack of spares.
