The role The Lawyer role is pivotal to this mission. You will drive the company's continued success by providing expert legal assistance across a wide spectrum of matters, with a primary focus on renewable energy and power generation activities. This includes navigating complex regulatory frameworks, drafting essential commercial agreements, and ensuring full compliance with PNG legislation and international contract standards. This role requires extensive collaboration with cross-functional teams—including Business Development, Project Finance, and Construction—to align legal strategies with overall company objectives.

Main duties include: - Provide clear, practical legal advice to internal stakeholders on corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters.
- Draft a wide range of commercial contracts, agreements, and legal documents relevant to power generation projects.
- Navigate the intricate regulatory framework surrounding renewable energy and power generation in Papua New Guinea.
- Manage legal risks and ensure compliance with relevant laws, industry standards, and company policies.
- Support dispute resolution, litigation management, and external counsel coordination when required.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to provide legal guidance on business strategies and company objectives.
Qualification and Experience: - Bachelor of Laws degree supported by a strong academic record.
- Professional Certification: Maintain current membership with the PNG Law Society.
- Requires 4–5 PQE in a law firm or in-house legal department, focusing on corporate and commercial matters.
- Proven ability to draft contracts and navigate regulatory frameworks specifically related to renewable energy and power generation.
- Possesses exceptional English communication skills, high attention to detail, and a proactive, systematic approach to work.
- A self-reliant professional capable of working with minimal supervision to solve problems and suggest efficient work solutions.
