Steamships Limited is seeking a passionate and skilled Learning & Development Specialist to develop, implement, and manage impactful training programs that enhance employee performance and support career growth across the organization. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional dedicated to building capabilities and fostering a culture of continuous learning.

About the Role:

Reporting to the relevant management, you will be instrumental in coordinating impactful training programs that boost employee performance and foster career advancement within the Logistics Division of Steamships. You will also support the apprenticeship program within the Logistics Division, contribute to the recruitment activities of the Graduate Development Program, represent the Steamships Graduate Development Program at career expos, and support safety and training across the business. The successful candidate will have specific involvement in coordinating apprenticeship programs within the Logistics Division.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver training programs that align with business objectives and individual development needs with a focus on Logistics Division
• Conduct training needs assessments and collaborate with departments to identify skill gaps.
• Facilitate onboarding sessions and professional development workshops.
• Evaluate training effectiveness and adjust programs for maximum impact.
• Maintain training records and ensure compliance with organizational and legal standards.
• Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including division management, HR, and training providers.
• Facilitate partnerships with external institutions and regulatory bodies to enhance training offerings.
• Coordinate and support the apprenticeship programs specifically within the Logistics Division.

To be successful in this role, you will have;

Qualifications & Certifications:

• A Diploma or Higher Qualification in Human Resources, Education, or a directly related field.
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
• Industry-specific qualifications or certifications relevant to the Logistics sector are highly regarded.

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Learning & Development, HR, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of industry experience within the Logistics sector, with a minimum of 2 years in a role that involved significant on-the-job training, mentoring, or instruction.
• Proven experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and online delivery.
• Knowledge and experience working with the National Apprenticeship and Trade Testing Board (NATTB) is highly desirable.

Skills & Abilities:

• Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to develop engaging learning content and manage multiple priorities effectively.
