About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and qualified Licensed Customs Agent to manage and oversee the end-to-end import of high-volume clearance processes. This role is responsible for preparing and submitting accurate customs documentation, ensuring full compliance with PNG customs regulations, and coordinating with shipping and government agencies to ensure timely and efficient clearance of goods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for overseeing the entire process of importing goods, including preparing and submitting necessary documentation such as customs declaration, invoice and shipping documents.
  • Ensure compliance with customs regulations. Classify goods according to customs codes, determining duty rate and ensure appropriate license and permits are obtained.
  • Liaise with government agencies, customs authorities and provide customs advice and guidance regarding regulations, procedures and requirements.
  • Coordinate with shipping & logistics team to ensure timely and efficient clearance of goods.
  • Keep updated on market and industry trends, customs laws and regulations, changes in trade agreements, tariff rates and other relevant information that may impact import activities.
Key Requirements
  • Grade 12 Certificate with a Valid PNG Customs Broker License (Mandatory)
  • 5+ years’ experience as a Customs Agent/Customs Broker with a strong understanding of customs regulations and procedures in a high-volume capacity.
  • PNG Customs Service - Post Clearance Audit (PCA) Report is a requirement.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with ASYCUDA
  • Must be have solid knowledge of all PNG Customs Tariffs, Customs legislation, regulations and current standard operating procedures.
  • Must have proven ability to multi-task, manage multiple projects and prioritise and previous experience working in a fast-paced environment.
