Job Detail

We are seeking a Licensed Electrician to serve as a Team Lead responsible for ensuring strict safety compliance and overseeing a team of electricians. This role will focus on diagnosing and resolving PNG Power grid issues, generator and ATS (Automatic Transfer Switch) problems, and maintaining FAS and FIP systems. The successful candidate will provide leadership, technical expertise, and clear reporting to management.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Safety Compliance: Ensure all electrical work meets national regulations, company standards, and occupational safety requirements.
• Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and coordinate electricians to deliver safe and effective solutions.
• PNG Power Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve grid-related electrical faults impacting operations.
• Generator & ATS Systems: Lead maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of backup power systems to ensure reliability.
• Fire Alarm Systems: Oversee installation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of fire alarm systems and fire indicator panels.
• Reporting: Document issues, corrective actions, and provide detailed technical reports to management.
• Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement schedules to minimize downtime and improve system reliability.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Valid electrician's license recognized in PNG
• Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical systems, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Preferred:

• Excellent knowledge of PNG Power infrastructure, generators, ATS systems, and fire alarm systems.
• Strong report writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
