The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the services in P.N.G to support the flow of materials for client projects on an end-to-end basis.
Position Responsibilities
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible and accountable for (but not limited to) the following:
Coordinate the flow of goods from various origins to project sites, according to delivery requirements, including freight booking, document control, packing, storage, and quarantine requirements.
Confirm arrival of goods at ports of import/export within PNG and coordinate clearance procedures with relevant customs agents and service providers.
Monitor customs processes and follow up to ensure timely release of cargo, avoiding delays, port storage, or detention costs.
Identify opportunities to reduce cycle times between cargo arrival, customs release, and final delivery.
Track the release and movement of goods from wharf to site or warehouse, maintaining timely and accurate updates.
Perform visual inspections and line-item checks to ensure cargo matches packing lists and documentation.
Verify the suitability of cargo for domestic and international transport, and coordinate any required repacking, fumigation, or certifications with service providers.
Coordinate import and export clearance by working closely with international freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal stakeholders to ensure all documentation is accurate and submitted on time.
Maintain tracking reports for each shipment to provide clear visibility of cargo movement and status.
Ensure accurate and timely data entry in SAP, Insight, and other internal systems to reflect current logistics activity.
Prepare and maintain job files for invoicing; monitor the accuracy of third-party invoices and accruals and ensure job files are complete and accurate before submission.
Support the Logistics Lead with data entry, status updates, and documentation reviews as requested.
Maintain professional communication with internal teams, clients, and service providers to proactively resolve operational issues.
Selection Criteria – Essential
Strong planning, organizing, and attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and within a team.
Selection Criteria – Desirable
3–5 years’ operational experience in freight forwarding and customs clearance.
Familiarity with logistics systems.
Experience working with shipping or freight forwarding companies.
Financial understanding of logistics cost drivers and structure.
Qualifications / Licences
Minimum Year 12 Accreditation
Current unrestricted drivers licence – Manual preferred
