MANAGER – FINANCIAL INNOVATION & DATA UNIT, FINANCIAL SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT & INNOVATION POLICY DEPARTMENT (FSDIPD)

Reports To: Manager – FSDIPD

The primary role of the Manager, Financial Innovation and Data Unit is to lead and manage the unit's activities related to FinTech and digital financial services (DFS) innovation, including the development and implementation of strategies to promote the adoption of new technologies and business models in the financial sector. The role includes managing the financial innovation hub/sandbox, fostering collaboration with FinTech companies and licensed financial institutions (LFIs), and providing technical assistance and capacity building to support innovation. The Unit Manager is accountable to the Department Manager, FSDIPD.

Education/Qualification/Experiences/Skills/Competencies

• Master’s Degree or Degree in Economics, Finance, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related fields with a strong focus on financial sector development and innovation.
• Seven plus years’ experience in the financial services industry, including experience in FinTech, DFS innovation management, or related areas.
• Deep understanding of financial sector development challenges and opportunities in developing countries.
• Strong knowledge of FinTech, DFS, and innovative financial products and services.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing innovative strategies.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks for FinTech and digital financial services.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong project management skills.
