(The actual marine kind)
Location: Papua New Guinea
PNG Motors is growing its marine operations and we’re looking for experienced Marine Auto Electricians and Marine Mechanics to support Suzuki Marine and associated marine brands across Papua New Guinea.
This is not a “close enough” role. If your marine experience starts and ends with standing near a boat, this probably isn’t for you.
You’ll be working on marine engines and marine electrical systems, diagnosing faults, servicing and repairing equipment, and keeping vessels operating in conditions where saltwater, heat, vibration, and weather are part of the job. Work is split between workshop and field, and not everything arrives neatly scheduled. When something fails at sea, it needs to be fixed properly, not creatively explained.
You’ll be expected to work independently, follow manufacturer standards, and maintain strong safety discipline, even when conditions are uncomfortable and time is tight.
This role suits someone with genuine marine experience. Not automotive experience with an interest in boats, but real hands-on work with marine engines and marine electrical systems. You understand outboard servicing, marine electrical fault finding, wiring and control systems, charging systems, and engine management. You’ve worked on equipment that lives in saltwater and you know why that matters.
Experience supporting offshore, commercial, or professional marine operations is highly regarded and will feel familiar rather than intimidating.
Formal marine trade qualifications are highly regarded, as is manufacturer training such as Suzuki Marine or equivalent. Relevant electrical or mechanical certifications will be viewed favourably.
PNG Motors is a well-established organisation supporting marine and mobility operations across Papua New Guinea. We work with recognised global marine brands and operate in real conditions, with real customers who depend on their equipment. When things go wrong on the water, they go wrong quickly, and we understand the responsibility that comes with that.
You’ll be trusted to do the job properly, supported by a professional technical team, and given work that values skill, judgement, and reliability.
If you know marine work, respect the ocean, and take pride in fixing things properly the first time, we’d like to hear from you.
Send your CV and a short cover letter outlining your marine experience to: Dylan Siketa [email protected]
