Position Overview:
The Mechanical Assistant will support the mechanic in various tasks related to the maintenance and repair of mechanical systems, equipment, and the company fleet of vehicles. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn and assist in ensuring that all mechanical operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the mechanic in diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues in machinery and vehicles, including the company fleet.
  • Help with the maintenance and servicing of all mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Prepare tools and equipment for repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Keep inventory of tools and parts, ensuring they are in good condition.
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures at all times.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks as directed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in mechanics is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems, tools, and vehicle maintenance.
  • Willingness to learn and take direction from a skilled mechanic.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects as needed.

Working Conditions:

  • May involve working in a garage or workshop setting.
  • Regularly required to stand, bend, and lift equipment; may involve exposure to noise and varying weather conditions.
