PLUMBER

Job Summary:

The Stanley Hotel and Suites is seeking a qualified Plumber to support the Engineering Department in maintaining all plumbing-related infrastructure, systems, and services across the hotel. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, repair, inspection, and maintenance of all water, drainage, and piping systems to ensure a safe, comfortable, and fully operational environment for guests and staff.

The ideal candidate should possess strong practical plumbing experience, sound knowledge of piping systems, and the ability to respond promptly to maintenance requests while maintaining high safety and service standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and service all plumbing infrastructure including water supply, drainage, wastewater, and piping systems.
• Perform preventive and routine maintenance as scheduled by the department.
• Inspect and maintain pump rooms, grease traps, sumps and associated plumbing facilities.
• Respond promptly and professionally to plumbing breakdowns and guest maintenance requests.
• Carry out repairs on laundry equipment, kitchen systems, and fire and water piping networks.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety standards for hotel water System and tanks.
• Good knowledge of swimming pool system and Chemical Dosing.
• Assist with emergency maintenance procedures when required.

Requirements:

• Certificate III Plumbing or equivalent TVET qualifications (NTC accredited).
• Minimum 2 years’ practical plumbing experience, preferably in hospitality or commercial environments.
• Working knowledge of fire protection piping systems.
• Ability to diagnose and repair plumbing faults efficiently.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, weekends, and emergency call-outs.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety, quality workmanship and guest service.
• Ability to read and interpret plumbing and engineering plans is an advantage.
