About the role
The National Senior Content Officer provides operational and analytical support to the principal – National Content by supporting aspects of data collection, analysis, and reporting related to Porgera’s National Content Program. The role plays a critical part in tracking progress against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), identifying areas of non-compliance or underperformance, and supporting timely and accurate reporting to internal and external stakeholders, including the PNG Government.
In this role, you will.
- In coordination with the National Content Lead, and in collaboration with HR, Procurement, and Community teams, oversee and manage the collection, collation, analysis, and reporting of all National Content-related data.
- Ensure that all National Content data from relevant departments is:
- Accurately collected and recorded in standardized formats.
- Timely compiled and assessed for performance against KPIs and legal/regulatory commitments.
- Provided to the Principal – National Content and Sustainability Manager for reporting to NPL management, the Board, the State, and other stakeholders.
- Use data management platforms such as Power BI and Borealis to maintain up-to-date dashboards that visualize progress against the National Content Plan targets.
- Prepare and submit detailed statistical and performance reports to internal managers, owners, and government regulators as required.
- Conduct routine and ad-hoc data analysis to:
- Track progress against national content KPIs.
- Monitor compliance with commitments under the Mining Development Contract.
- Identify gaps, shortfalls, or non-compliance in program delivery and provide actionable insights to the National Content Lead.
- Support quarterly reporting to the National Content Steering Committee and annual reporting to the PNG regulator by providing validated, formatted data and insights.
- Maintain a high level of health and safety awareness and comply with the NPL Occupational Health & Safety Policy and all health & Safety Policy
About You
To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience
- Proven experience in managing large-scale national content programs, supplier and workforce development in the mining or similar industries.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external stakeholders.
- In-depth knowledge of PNG’s development priorities and regulatory requirements in the mining sector.
- Excellent communication, reporting, and project management skills.
- Analytical & Data Management Skills: Excellent analytical and computer skills with the ability to set up automatic data flows, metrics, and indicators.
- Experience with Power BI or other database tools, as well as proficiency in data analysis, and data science techniques to track and measure program performance.

Skills & Experience
- Tertiary qualification in Data Analytics, Business Administration, Development Studies, or a related field.
- 3–5 years’ experience in data management, compliance monitoring, or reporting roles, preferably in the mining or infrastructure sectors.
- Proficiency in data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Borealis, Excel, SharePoint).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with demonstrated ability to manage and interpret large datasets.
- Understanding PNG’s National Content regulatory framework and the Mining Development Contract is an advantage.
- Effective communicator with the ability to coordinate across multiple departments and interface with senior stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet tight reporting deadlines.
Mobilization Requirement
This is a PNG National Staff position, a site-based role on a Fly in Fly out arrangement with rotation of 21 days on and 14 days off. Must successfully pass a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screening. (This will be arranged only for successful candidates who progress after the interview stage) and have an up-to-date Police Clearance Certificate (acquired within the last 6 months).
