Portfolio Director of HR

A little taste of your day-to-day

Every day is different at IHG, but you’ll mostly be:

• Leading the People & Culture strategy across your hotel portfolio – ensuring a consistent, engaging, and high-performance culture from onboarding through to leadership development, succession, and exit.
• Partnering closely with General Managers and senior leaders to drive talent, engagement, and performance outcomes aligned with IHG’s global standards and local legislative requirements.
• Providing strategic oversight of workforce planning, manning, and payroll budgeting across multiple hotels – ensuring optimal FTE alignment, cost control, and future workforce readiness.
• Guiding, coaching, and developing property-level People & Culture teams to strengthen leadership capability, operational discipline, and data-driven decision-making.
• Identifying market and industry trends to shape competitive total rewards, retention, and talent strategies that position IHG as an employer of choice.
• Championing a culture of recognition, inclusion, and continuous learning – inspiring colleagues to deliver True Hospitality for Good every day.
• Enhancing the visibility and reputation of our hotels through meaningful community partnerships, local engagement, and initiatives that reflect IHG’s purpose and values.

What we need from you

• Bachelor’s degree, higher education qualification or equivalent 
• Four years of related experience in HR – supervisory experience is also beneficial
• Professional HR designation preferred
• Ability to maintain confidentiality to the extent possible in all HR-related matters 
• Must speak local language(s) 
• Other languages preferred
