THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Procurement Manager to join our Head Office team in Port Moresby.

This role is responsible for managing sourcing, negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationships with international suppliers, while supporting the Supply Chain function to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness across the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage sourcing and procurement activities with international suppliers.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and service agreements to achieve best value for money.
  • Maintain and develop strong supplier relationships.
  • Support the Supply Chain Manager in overseeing daily departmental operations.
  • Liaise with international suppliers regarding pricing, products, and services.
  • Work closely with the Sales team on price surveys, benchmarking, and market competitiveness.
  • Collaborate with key buyers to determine product requirements and procurement planning.
  • Monitor supplier payments and coordinate with Accounts to ensure timely processing.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.

THE CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Business, Supply Chain or related field (or relevant experience).
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a procurement role dealing with international suppliers.
  • Proven experience in sourcing and purchasing from overseas vendors.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of Pronto systems and procurement/forecasting tools is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and work extended hours when required.
