PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR – LAE BASE

International Food Corporation Ltd, the leading manufacturer of Besta Mackerel and Tuna products in PNG and South Pacific seeks to recruit highly motivated and qualified experience individual to fill the position of Production Supervisor.

Position Summary:

The Production Supervisor at our Lae base will oversee daily operations on the food processing lines, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant production. This role leads a team of operators, enforces hygiene and safety protocols, monitors output quality, and drives continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Schedule, coordinate, and supervise food processing activities to meet daily targets and deadlines.
• Monitor line performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and waste.
• Ensure all processes comply with HACCP, GMP, ISO, and company policies.
• Inspect food products to ensure consistency, quality, and proper packaging. Conduct regular inspections of products and packaging for consistency, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor and enforce cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation standards throughout the production area. Enforce strict hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety standards across the production floor.
• Report and manage any equipment faults or process deviations, coordinating repairs or adjustments promptly.
• Lead, mentor, and motivate production staff to maintain high productivity, morale, and engagement.
• Participate in the recruitment, training, and performance evaluation of team members, with a focus on food and workplace safety.
• Work closely with Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and Inventory teams to ensure smooth, end-to-end workflows.
• Maintain accurate records of production output, quality metrics, and maintenance activities, and prepare reports for management.

Qualification and Experience:

• Diploma or Degree in Food Technology, Food Science, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a food processing or manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and standards (HACCP, GMP, etc.).
• Proven leadership skills with excellent communication, organization, and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to troubleshoot operational issues and perform under pressure.
• Proficient in production tracking software and Microsoft Office Applications.

Work Environment:

• Production plant setting with exposure to varying temperature moisture, and noise levels.
• Mandatory use of protective equipment (e.g., gloves, hairnets, safety boots, etc.).
• Physical demand involves standing for extended periods and occasional lifting.
