About the Role
The organisation is currently recruiting a
Program Manager – Community Infrastructure responsible for leading the design, planning, and delivery of infrastructure and services that improve community access to essential facilities. The successful candidate will work closely with local stakeholders and internal teams to identify needs, manage partnerships, and build lasting community impact.
Key Responsibilities - Lead and manage the rollout of community infrastructure projects to enable access to various services.
- Conduct targeted research and use data towards program design, ensure sustainability and leverage efficiencies.
- Work closely with local level government structure and authorities to enable alignment with respective development plants.
- Coordinate all project closely with communities to leverage local knowledge towards efficient solutions.
- Design fit-for-purpose solutions in power, water and other utilities working closely with infrastructure teams or through special purpose vehicles.
- Develop funding proposals and project budgets.
- Coordinate with Community Relations towards developing services in the field of woman and youth empowerment including sports and cultural activities.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff, fostering collaboration, professional development and performance through regular feedback and evaluations.
Requirements of the Role - Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering, Construction, Project Management, or a related field.
- At least 5-7 years’ experience managing infrastructure projects and services in development, humanitarian or remote areas.
- Strong knowledge of construction projects, solar engineering and water projects.
- Strong leadership and coordination skills; with proven experience in mentoring staff and contributing to team planning
- Practical, resilient, and calm under pressure.
- Experience in WASH projects is an advantage
- Effective communication skills with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders and communities
- Proficiency in English and Tok Pisin; knowledge of local dialects in Western Province is an advantage
- Demonstrates high personal integrity and models organisational values
- Ability to troubleshoot and adapt to evolving technical and logistical challenges.
