Position

We’re seeking to recruit a results-driven professionals for the position of Project Construction Managers for our Port Moresby, Lae and Goroka offices.

About the Role

The Project Construction Manager will be responsible for end-to-end delivery of an assigned commercial construction project within their designated province.

This is a senior leadership role requiring strong commercial acumen, disciplined reporting, and the ability to deliver projects on time and within budget in PNG operating conditions.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery

  • Lead construction from mobilisation through to practical completion
  • Develop and manage the master construction programme
  • Ensure adherence to approved drawings, specifications, and scope
  • Manage subcontractors and on-site workforce

Financial Control

  • Manage project budget and cost-to-complete forecasting
  • Control procurement and material scheduling
  • Maintain variation register and seek approvals where required
  • Deliver project within approved financial parameters

Reporting & Governance

  • Provide weekly progress and financial reports
  • Maintain risk and issue logs
  • Forecast timeline risks and mitigation strategies
  • Ensure compliance with company governance standards

Safety & Quality

  • Enforce site safety standards and procedures
  • Ensure quality control inspections at key milestones
  • Oversee defects management and handover process

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in commercial construction management
  • Proven track record delivering multi-million-kina projects
  • Strong understanding of PNG construction environment
  • Experience managing subcontractors and local labour teams
  • High-level budgeting and financial management capability
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with accountability

Preferred background from major PNG contractors or infrastructure projects.

Success in this role will be measured by:

  • Delivery within approved budget
  • Delivery within agreed timeline
  • Quality compliance and minimal defects
  • Strong cost discipline and procurement control
  • Zero major safety incidents

Performance incentives will be tied directly to these outcomes.
