Our Client Our client is seeking a
resilient, energetic, and hands-on Project Manager to join their Porgera-based operations in Papua New Guinea. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced hospitality professional ready to embrace a leadership role in a remote yet rewarding environment.
Your Opportunity To be successful in this role, you must want both
the position and
the PNG experience. You’ll be overseeing complex hospitality operations in a remote location, requiring a steady hand, innovation, and cultural adaptability.
You will work alongside two other Project Managers, on a FIFO roster, leading multiple outlets and ensuring high standards in quality, compliance, and service delivery across the operation.
Key Responsibilities - Supervise day-to-day culinary and F&B operations
- Maintain quality assurance (QA), food safety (HACCP), and ISO:2015 compliance
- Enforce all SOPs, recipes, inventory systems, and food storage protocols
- Train and upskill local teams to improve productivity
- Foster a safety-first workplace culture
- Drive stakeholder relationships and continuously improve service delivery
- Perform back-to-back handovers at each rotation
About You You are energetic, proactive, and hands-on—a true leader who leads from the front. You understand remote hospitality and thrive in multicultural, high-pressure environments.
You bring:
- 5+ years' experience in a senior hospitality role
- Formal cooking qualifications and operational experience
- Previous exposure to hardship or remote locations, ideally in the South Pacific
- A collaborative mindset with mentoring and coaching strengths
- Strong communication, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills
- A positive attitude, charisma, and resilience to meet daily challenges
The Offer - Salary: AUD $140,000 per annum
- Rotation: 32 days onsite / 24 days off
- Accommodation: Provided onsite
- Point of Hire: Preferably Cairns or Brisbane
- Superannuation: 5%
- Sick Leave: 10 days p.a.
