601 Engineering Limited is an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) company based in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, specializing in the energy sector, particularly fuel storage, bulk aviation facilities, and oil and gas projects. We also provide engineering consulting services for mechanical projects and offer renovation services for commercial and government buildings.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Project Manager to oversee our OTE Aviation Project. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall supervision and coordination of site activities, ensuring successful project execution while adhering to safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Overall Site Supervision & Coordination:
  Act as the primary on-site contact for daily construction activities across multiple disciplines (civil, structural, mechanical, piping, instrumentation, electrical). Ensure alignment of work with project scope and specifications.
• Discipline Integration & Multi-Trade Management:
  Manage the integration of various trades, ensuring adherence to schedules and quality standards. Provide technical oversight to crews.
• Quality Assurance / Control:
  Inspect work in progress to verify compliance with project specifications and quality standards. Track non-conformances and facilitate corrective actions.
• Health, Safety, Environment & Regulatory Compliance:
  Implement safe work practices and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Prepare and enforce Job Safety Analyses (JSA) for high-risk tasks.
• Schedule, Cost & Progress Monitoring:
  Track daily progress and report on status, identifying risks and proposing mitigation actions.
• Resource & Logistics Management:
  Supervise site workforce and manage materials and equipment logistics effectively.
• Communication & Stakeholder Engagement:
  Serve as a communication link between site teams, contractors, clients, and internal functions. Conduct regular site meetings to ensure alignment.
• Commissioning, Turnover & Close-Out:
  Supervise the handover of constructed scope and support final inspections and close-out reports.

Specific Considerations for a Fuel Loading Facility:

• Ensure compliance with hazardous area regulations and oversee construction of containment systems.
• Coordinate mechanical piping and instrumentation works, ensuring environmental controls are in place.
• Support commissioning activities, ensuring alignment with safety and operational readiness.

Typical Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience in supervising multi-discipline construction projects, preferably in industrial, energy, or fuel/storage environments.
• Strong understanding of civil, structural, mechanical, piping, and electrical/instrumentation scopes.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and coordination skills.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong organizational and planning abilities.
• Solid safety mindset with knowledge of WHS/OSHA/NEBOSH standards.
• Relevant certifications and a degree/diploma in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field are preferred.

Reporting Structure:

• Reports to: Construction Manager / Project Manager.
• Interfaces with: Site Engineers, QA/QC team, HSE team, Procurement/Logistics team, and Subcontractor Supervisors.
