The Regional GEDSI and Partnerships Coordinator is responsible for providing high quality technical support in Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion, child safeguarding, and locally led partnerships across all REnew funded grantees across the Pacific region. The role will ensure that implementing partners meet Save the Children’s standards on inclusive practices and safe programming and strengthen the capacity, systems, and leadership of local organisations delivering REnew activities.

Providing a critical bridge between Save the Children’s technical objectives and civil society, private sector, and government partners implementing Renew, the position will support partners to design and implement inclusive, equitable, and community driven interventions and contribute to Save the Children’s wider localisation and civil society strengthening agenda. This dedicated role will coordinate appropriate resources to meet site visit requirements with regular national and international travel under the REnew project.

Regional GEDSI Partnerships Coordinator -Renew

This Position reports to the RENew Regional Team Lead and work closely with the Safeguarding Lead, Partnerships and GEDSI team, REnew program teams, and relevant government ministries.

Key Responsibilities

• Program Design and Technical Support
  • Provide technical advisory support to REnew grantees to strengthen gender equality, disability inclusion and social inclusion in program design and implementation.
  • Lead the completion of the Gender Equality Marker and Disability Sensitive Minimum Standards tools for partner activities.
  • Support partners to integrate child safeguarding and safe programming approaches into all stages of the project cycle.
  • Contribute to high quality concept notes and proposals related to REnew or new localisation and resilience initiatives.
  • Support partners to conduct participatory community consultations, ensuring the voices of girls, boys, women, people with disabilities and youth are represented.

• Program Implementation and Quality Assurance
  • Deliver mandatory safeguarding, PSEAH and safe programming training to partner staff and ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Provide practical support to partners to challenge harmful norms and promote the rights of women, children, people with disabilities and marginalised groups.
  • Conduct regular quality assurance reviews of partner outputs and provide coaching to improve inclusion and safeguarding outcomes.
  • Support monitoring, supervision and documentation of GEDSI and safeguarding components within REnew activities.
  • Participate in partner planning, review and design workshops and share lessons learned with the PDQ team and wider organisation.

• Partnership Development and Localisation
  • Lead the development of a partnership approach in coordination with the REnew, regional, and Australia based teams, with all REnew grantees and ensure relationships are equitable and based on mutual accountability.
  • Conduct capacity assessments and support partners to develop capacity strengthening workplans.
  • Mentor grantees on governance, safeguarding systems, inclusive practice, reporting and other organisational areas relevant to REnew delivery.
  • Facilitate partner participation in key design, review and learning processes.
  • Identify new opportunities to engage women led, youth led and disability led organisations in the REnew partner ecosystem.

• Government and Civil Society Engagement
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with relevant government ministries implementing REnew, including DoE, DoCC, MoET, MoH and provincial authorities.
  • Support the development and management of Memorandums of Understanding and other government engagement processes linked to REnew.
  • Strengthen the wider civil society network for climate resilience, child protection, community development and GEDSI.
  • Promote meaningful participation of children and youth in program discussions and advocacy opportunities.

• Evidence, Monitoring and Learning
  • Contribute to GEDSI sensitive and partnership focused monitoring and evaluation approaches across the REnew portfolio.
  • Support partners to collect disaggregated data and document lessons learned.
  • Assist in the implementation of formative research, endline surveys and other data collection activities.
  • Produce high quality case studies, learning briefs and evidence products on inclusion, safeguarding and partner strengthening.
  • Share insights with the PDQ team, Save the Children Australia and global communities of practice.

• Capacity Building
  • Design and deliver training, mentoring and workshops to strengthen partner staff capability in GEDSI, child safeguarding, inclusive design and community engagement.
  • Support roll out of key global resources on gender, disability and safeguarding.
  • Build partner confidence to independently lead inclusive, safe and community owned programming.
  • Support Save the Children’s internal staff capacity development on GEDSI and inclusion.

Person Specification

Essential knowledge or experience

• Ability to multitask, work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines, responsive to external requests and strong team player.
• Proficiency in English and a Pacific language
• Willing and able to travel widely in country to support field teams
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., international development, business, social sciences)
• Proven experience in partnership management and/or GEDSI, and/or community development
• Strong relationship-building skills and ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
• Familiarity with government engagement processes, reporting frameworks, and MOU establishment.
• Knowledge of capacity development approaches and experience supporting partners in achieving their objectives.
• Passion for empowering children and ensuring their meaningful participation in programmatic activities.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
• Knowledge on the civil society, private sector, and government authorities in the renewable energy landscape
