Pacific Palms Property under Steamships Trading Company is actively seeking a highly skilled, results-driven, and experienced professional to join our team as a Senior Accountant. This role requires a candidate with substantial experience in financial reporting, internal controls, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, capital expenditure (Capex), and projects.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role based in Port Moresby, National Capital District, Papua New Guinea. As a Senior Accountant, your responsibilities are:

• Provide support to ensure job descriptions and development and training plans are in place and implemented.
• Work closely with HR to align financial and personal management activities.
• Ensure all Purchase Orders are validated, registered, and forwarded in a timely manner.
• Oversee the lease accounting process including the recognition of lease revenue and expense including ensuring compliance with lease terms and conditions.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with standards.
• Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist in the development of budgets and financial forecasts.
• Oversee the general ledger and maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors during financial audits.
• Prepare and file corporate income tax returns.

Required Experience.

• Minimum six (6) years of post-qualification experience in a supervisory capacity within finance and commercial function.
• Proven track record of managing an operational budget across multi- locations.
• Solid ERP financial systems and reporting knowledge and understanding.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Accounting & Finance or a related field.
