Monier Limited, the single largest producer, supplier and distributer of construction materials and building products in PNG is seeking to recruit suitably qualified and highly motivated individual for the following position:

Senior Human Resource Officer

To assist Human Resource Team Lead in all HR matters including; Selection & recruitment, induction of new employees, industrial and employee relations, employee development, training, review and formulation of HR Policies, Organizational Structures, development and management of performance management systems, headcount management, leave liabilities reports, review of salary structure, HR Admin and payroll related duties.

Duties include;

  • Assist and attend to recruitment needs of all divisions.
  • Coordinate with payroll department details of newly hired employees, leave and final entitlements.
  • Assist Human Resources Team Lead in the preparation of the weekly HR report.
  • Conduct & prepare onboarding for newly hired employees.
  • Monitor & coordinate employee probationary periods & ensure release of assessments and confirmation of employment after assessment.
  • Maintain and track staff remuneration & benefits in liaison with HR Team Lead & HR Manager.
  • Prepare employment contracts and other related documents for employment for newly hired employees.
  • Co-ordinate the issuance of Identification Cards to employees.
  • Lead and supervise a Team of 4 ancillary staff ie; cleaner, Janitor & gardeners ensure they carry out duties effectively.
  • Attend to Nasfund & NCSL queries.
  • Carry out weekly site visits to attend to any HR related queries.
  • Prepare fortnightly timesheets in a timely manner.
  • Assist in other related duties as instructed by HR Team Lead or Human Resources Manager.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

  • Diploma or Degree in Psychology or Human Resources Management and/or Related.
  • Strong understanding of strong Human Resources Best Practices
  • 5 – 7 years’ experience in all areas of Human Resources including Labour & Employee Relations, Remuneration & Benefits.
  • Possess excellent verbal & written communication skills.
  • Ability to lead a diverse team & work well at all levels.
  • Conceptual, Innovative thinker and open to new ideas
