About the RoleBased in Port Moresby, our client is seeking a driven and experienced PNG National to join their growing team as their next Senior IT Auditor.
Reporting to the IT Audit Manager, the Senior IT Auditor will play a key role in delivering independent, objective assurance over IT systems and controls. This position will suit an experienced professional capable of leading audit engagements, assessing risk, and providing valuable insights to support the Bank’s operational integrity and cyber resilience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead IT Audit Engagements: Plan, execute, and report on end-to-end IT and IT Security audits in alignment with audit methodology and risk-based approaches.
- Risk Assessment & Controls Evaluation: Identify and assess risks across IT systems and infrastructure, evaluating the design and effectiveness of existing controls to ensure risk is minimised and mitigated.
- Audit Reporting & Follow-Up: Prepare clear, concise, and professional audit reports outlining key findings and recommendations. Conduct timely follow-ups to ensure agreed actions are implemented.
- Technical Audit Support: Design, implement, and maintain Computer-Assisted Audit Techniques (CAATs) to enhance audit effectiveness and efficiency. Provide technical guidance and support for audit software tools.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business operations and emerging risks. Act as a liaison on IT-related audit matters.
- Team Leadership & Development: Supervise, coach, and support IT Audit Officers and broader audit staff to build capability and ensure audit objectives are achieved.
Key Requirements - A university Degree in IT related field e.g. Computer Science /Technology or Business-related field e.g. Commerce.
- Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or willing to acquire the certification within one year.
- Other professional qualifications including CRISC, CISM, CPA, CIA will be an added advantage but not mandatory.
- A minimum of 3 -5 years' experience in a Bank or Financial sector within Audit, Risk or first line control related function including IT.
- At least 1 year supervisory experienced
