Summary

The Senior IT Technician is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the organization's information technology systems. They manage and maintain the IT infrastructure, provide technical support, and assist in the planning and implementation of IT projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Manage and maintain the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and computer systems.
  2. Diagnose and resolve complex hardware and software issues.
  3. Assist in the planning and implementation of IT projects, such as system upgrades and installations.
  4. Provide technical support to staff and users, answering queries and solving technical problems.
  5. Monitor system performance and ensure the security and integrity of data.
  6. Develop and implement IT policies and best practice guides for the organization.
  7. Conduct regular system audits.
  8. Manage relationships with vendors and contractors.
  9. Train and mentor junior IT staff.

Job Requirements

  1. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  2. Several years of experience in a similar role.
  3. Strong knowledge of computer systems, networks, and IT security.
  4. Proficiency in managing and maintaining servers and networks.
  5. Excellent problem-solving skills.
  6. Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  7. Ability to explain complex information in simple terms.
  8. Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+).

Others

The Senior IT Technician typically works in an office environment but may occasionally be required to travel to different locations depending on the organization's setup. The role may require work outside of standard business hours for system maintenance and updates.
