Senior Legal Officer – Commercial. This is a permanent opportunity for a capable legal mind who enjoys working across a variety of matters and delivering clear, practical legal advice in a fast-paced business environment.
As part of the in-house legal team, you’ll provide support across commercial transactions, contract management, risk identification, and corporate governance—helping the organisation navigate legal complexities and drive commercial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities: - Provide practical legal advice on a range of corporate and commercial matters.
- Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts, agreements, and legal documents.
- Support business units with legal input on procurement, partnerships, and governance issues.
- Advise on legal risks and recommend commercially sensible solutions.
- Assist in managing legal and commercial negotiations across key areas of the business.
What We’re Looking For: - Bachelor of Laws Degree.
- Admitted to practise law in the National and Supreme Courts of Papua New Guinea.
- At least 8 years’ post-admission experience in corporate and commercial law.
- Demonstrated ability to provide clear, practical legal advice in a commercial context.
- Strong drafting skills, with experience preparing legal documents and contracts.
- Confident in conducting legal and commercial negotiations.
- Proactive, collaborative, and solutions-oriented mindset.
