Comfortable in a CEO's office? Know what's moving in PNG's market before it hits the headlines?

Our client, a major bank, needs a commercially savvy PNG national who can do more than manage relationships. They want someone who can walk into a CEO or CFO's office, talk confidently about where the market is heading, and bring solutions to the table for their key clients.

You'll own a key Financial Institutions portfolio covering banks, super funds, insurers, non-bank lenders, development partners, multilateral agencies to government bodies. You'll set the direction for how the bank works with these clients in PNG, building stronger ties and growing revenue in a way that's sustainable and well-managed for risk.

You'll become the person these clients call first. You'll understand what's happening in their industry, what they need over the short to medium term, and who across the bank can help them get there. You'll also be a visible face for the bank across PNG's financial community.

What you'll be doing

You'll join a small, high-performing Financial Institutions team, working closely with an experienced, hands-on Director who knows the market inside out and will back you to succeed.
  • Looking after a high-value portfolio of up to 50+ institutional clients and growing the bank's share of their business
  • Holding informed conversations about what's happening across your clients' industry
  • Supporting interbank relationships and new developments such as cross-border clearing
  • Bringing together lending, transaction banking, FX and markets solutions with the right specialists across the bank
  • Thinking through risk and benefit for both the client and the bank
  • Helping strengthen how PNG's financial system connects and moves money
  • Growing the portfolio while keeping it well-governed and compliant, including AML/CTF and sanctions
You're the person who...
  • Reads the market and can explain what it means for a client's business
  • Turns up to a meeting with ideas and solutions, not just questions
  • Is commercially savvy, quick on your feet and confident with senior leaders
  • Puts the client first and looks ahead to what they'll need next
  • Sees change as an opportunity, not a disruption
What you'll bring
  • A solid grasp of PNG's economy, its key sectors and how it's regulated
  • An understanding of risk exposure. First-line risk experience would be ideal
  • Knowledge of financial institutions and non-bank lenders, though this isn't essential
  • The ability to think strategically and follow through
  • A degree in business, finance, economics or similar
Banking experience is welcome but not essential. If you've built your career in insurance, finance, risk, development or another related field, we want to hear from you.

If you're the person clients trust for a straight, smart conversation about their business, we'd like to talk to you.
